July 16-20, 2008 - Günzburg, Germany
Our summer school was an integral part of our network's training programme, but we could accommodate external participants. It combined advanced training on apoptosis with complementary skills sessions.
Objectives
- To review basic apoptosis signaling molecules and pathways
- To highlight cutting-edge developments in the field of cell death research
- To discuss emerging therapeutic strategies to target dysregulation of apoptosis in human diseases
Venue
The course took place at Schloss Reisensburg in Günzburg, the Science Conference Center of Ulm University. The picturesque castle, situated on a hill close to the Danube, provides high-quality accommodation and conference facilities. Günzburg is located in Southern Germany in the middle between Stuttgart and Munich, about 30km from Ulm (see survey map).
Organizers
The scientific programme was arranged by ApopTrain coordinator Prof. Simone Fulda and by the dean of the medical faculty of Ulm University, Prof. Klaus-Michael Debatin. Organisational issues were handled by ICAS, a division of the medical faculty that specialises in international education and training activities.
Course CD with Presentations
A CD-ROM with the presentations of the speakers and with photos taken at the event has been distributed to all participants and lecturers by mail. Please contact the organisers if you have not received your letter.
