Training and Transfer of Knowledge
The network has developed a dedicated training program that combines local specialist training with network-wide, interdisciplinary and intersectoral training and transfer of knowledge activities and education in relevant complementary skills. Training and ToK activities are adapted to the targeted researchers, i.e. Ph.D. students and post-docs, to ensure optimal, stage-specific training by individual career development plans and by assignment of specific tasks to researchers corresponding to their current training level. The training program addresses important and timely training/ToK needs by overcoming fragmentation, integrating different disciplines and intersectoral training.
Training objectives are:
- to impart an interdisciplinary and intersectoral scientific and methodological education
- to acquire relevant complementary skills
- to guide the personal and professional career development (mentoring)
- to provide a training program that is adapted to the targeted researchers (postgraduates/experienced researchers)
- to foster mobility (across disciplines/sector/nations) to increase quantity and quality of training
- to advise on multiple career options in R&D across disciplines, sectors & nations
Transfer of Knowledge (ToK) objectives are:
- to transfer knowledge/technological advances between teams to foster long-term collaborations, industry-academia cooperation, innovation & exploitation of results
- to increase scientific and methodological skills of researchers
- to promote mobility (interdisciplinary, intersectoral, transnational)
- to enhance distribution of knowledge between nations and regions to structure the European Research Area
- to pass on expertise by participation of experienced researchers in training of Ph.D. students
- to involve researchers in the interdisciplinary nature of the joint project
