AG Experimental Cardiovascular MRI
The group was found in 2007 for the assessement of the value of non-invasive imaging tools in the realm of cardiovascular imaging. The main focus is to establish comprehensive non-invasive diagnostic imaging procedures for risk stratification, staging, diagnosis and therapy selection for the major cardiovascular diseases. Current research is focussed on:
- Assessment of the clincal role of magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) for diagnosis of cardiovascular diseases
- Development of non-invasive image based individual risk stratification for atherosclerotic diseases of the vascular system
- Assessment of the clinical role of MRI for cardiac electrophysiology including ablation treatment and device implantation
- Assessment of the value of MRI for cardiovascular intervention planning and guidance
- Cardiac Small Animal MRI
Furthermore, the group is actively involved in the development of new application fields for MRI such as the application of MRI in dentistry.
