Online Journal: Child and Adolescent Psychiatry and Mental Health
Das Online Journal „Child and Adolescent Psychiatry and Mental Health“ (CAPMH) erscheint seit Juni 2007 unter der federführenden Schriftleitung von Prof. Dr. Jörg M. Fegert als weltweit erstes Open Access Journal im Fachgebiet der Kinder- und Jugendpsychiatrie.
CAPMH wird von dem englischen Verlag BioMed Central als unabhängiges Fachjournal ausschließlich online publiziert. Basierend auf dem Prinzip des Open Access trägt CAPMH aktiv zu einer Unterstützung der freien Zugänglichkeit wissenschaftlicher Forschungsergebnisse bei und gewährleistet eine größtmögliche Verbreitung über das Internet. Im Vergleich mit anderen englischsprachigen Fachzeitschriften auf dem Gebiet der Kinder- und Jugendpsychiatrie, die entweder der europäischen oder der nordamerikanischen Tradition verpflichtet sind, ist der interkulturelle Ansatz ein Alleinstellungsmerkmal von CAPMH.
Die Manuskripteinsendungen werden durch drei unabhängige Gutachter innerhalb von 4-6 Wochen beurteilt. Die Unkosten für die Publikation werden entweder von den Autoren oder von institutionellen Mitgliedern von Biomed Central getragen. In begründeten Fällen können Autorengebühren reduziert oder erlassen werden. Alle Manuskripte werden sofort nach Annahme publiziert und sind ab diesem Zeitpunkt über PubMed frei zugänglich. Bislang wurden über 200 Artikel publiziert, von denen mehrere tausende Male aufgerufen und heruntergeladen wurden. CAPMH kann aufgrund der Publikationsgeschwindigkeit – die durchschnittliche Zeitdauer von der Einsendung bis zur Publikation beträgt ca. 140 Tage - für sich in Anspruch nehmen, ein internationales Forum für die schnelle und umfassende wissenschaftliche Kommunikation zu kinder- und jugendpsychiatrischen Themen sowie zu Fragen der seelischen Gesundheit des Kindes und Jugendalters zu sein.
Alle in CAPMH publizierten Beiträge erscheinen unverzüglich in PubMed, der weltweit stark verbreiteten Literaturdatenbank der US-Nationalbiblitothek für Medizin. Im Sommer 2008 wurde CAPMH von der American Psychological Association in die Literaturdatenbank PsycINFO aufgenommen. Für die kommenden Jahre ist eine weitere Expansion des Journals geplant. In diesem Vorhaben wird CAPMH durch eine Förderung im Rahmen der Programme zur Förderung der wissenschaftlichen Literaturversorgungs- und Informationssysteme (LIS) der Deutschen Forschungsgemeinschaft (www.dfg.de/lis) unterstützt.
Neben Prof. Fegert besteht das Herausgebergremium aus dem stellvertretenden Herausgeber Dr. Benedetto Vitiello (National Institute of Mental Health, USA) und den beiden Mitherausgebern Prof. Lutz Goldbeck (Universitätsklinik für Kinder- und Jugendpsychiatrie/Psychotherapie Ulm) und Dr. Jacinta Tan (Universität Oxford). CAPMH wird von einem hochkarätig besetzten internationalen Beirat unterstützt (siehe Board Members). Das Herausgeberbüro ist an der Universitätsklinik Ulm angesiedelt und wird durch Frau Dipl.-Psych. Diana Seitz in ihrer Funktion als Managing Editor geführt.
Potentielle Autoren seien auf das online Submission System von CAPMH unter http://www.capmh.com verwiesen. Für Rückfragen steht das Editorial Office unter der Email-Adresse capmh.editorial[at]uniklinik-ulm.de zur Verfügung.
