For an organisation that makes a commitment to quality development in nursing, evidence-based nursing practice is a guiding principle for professional nursing care.
The nursing profession is an essential part of an interdisciplinary treatment team with the aim of ensuring excellent patient care. We attach great importance to the continuous development of reflective nursing practice. Accordingly, we have established a number of programmes to strengthen and further develop the nursing profession and evidence-based nursing practice.
Some of these programmes include the following:
- A leadership development programme for ward managers
- A diverse and comprehensive range of training opportunities, including an e-learning programme
- Support for professional development, e.g. during studies with partial or full coverage of tuition fees or further training fees as well as time off work
- Support for students and graduates through a network for students and graduates in the care sector
- Possibility of realising projects
- Opportunity to take on extended tasks (e.g. care of a larger group of patients in a skill and grade mix)
- Recruitment and invitations from nursing schools
- Committee in nursing as a mouthpiece for nursing
- Enabling work shadowing "thinking outside the box"
- A critical care programme in cooperation with other facilities that offer IMC further training or strike courses, for example
Various experts such as respiratory therapists, nursing experts for Bobath and kinaesthetics, wound and pain management and dementia are used to further develop nursing practice. Multipliers support the transfer of theory and practice.
Professional nursing care is supported by a variety of tools such as standards and procedural instructions, thus contributing to quality assurance and development in nursing care.
Magnet4Europe
Campus Nord is one of 60 hospitals in Europe and 20 in Germany taking part in "Magnet4Europe". The study aims to redesign and improve the clinical work of doctors and nurses and focuses in particular on the mental health and well-being of employees as well as patient safety and patient outcome by redesigning the working environment based on the Magnet® principles. Each participating hospital in Europe is assigned a certified Magnet® clinic from the USA as a twin partner. The partners will work together for two years, forming forums, exchanging ideas and acting as a learning unit. This study is the largest initiative to date to improve the working environment in Europe.
