Ulm University Hospital is the youngest of the university hospitals in Baden-Württemberg. Founded in 1982, over the years it has established a firm place for itself in university healthcare, research and teaching. Today, it is impossible to imagine the medical and scientific map of the region and the state without it.
With 30 clinics and 16 institutes, it offers patients in the region and beyond the highest level of inpatient and outpatient care. Around 56,000 inpatients are treated at the university hospital every year. In addition, there are almost 270,000 outpatient quarterly cases.
In 2012, the hospital opened a state-of-the-art complex for the surgical clinics and dermatology - to maximise quality and comfort for our patients.
Since 1 January 2026, the Campus Nord Oberer Eselsberg (formerly RKU - University and Rehabilitation Clinics Ulm) has been part of Ulm University Hospital. Before the transfer of operations, the campus was run as a wholly owned subsidiary of the UKU from 2022 to 2025.
Around 8,500 employees at Oberer Eselsberg and the other sites on Michelsberg and Safranberg ensure that we can provide cutting-edge university medicine.
