Founding of the Cambodian Association of Pathology: A Milestone for Cambodia

In January 2026, the founding congress of the Cambodian Association of Pathology (CAP) took place in Phnom Penh. The Department of Neuropathology at Ulm University Hospital is also involved in the international collaboration aimed at advancing pathology training in Cambodia.

The founding congress of the Cambodian Association of Pathology (CAP) in January 2026 marked an important milestone for pathology services in Cambodia. After decades of rebuilding, international collaboration has helped establish independent training structures and strengthen diagnostic expertise locally. The new professional society promotes professional networking and supports the further development of pathology services in the country.

Prof. Dr. Liesche-Starnecker, Head of Neuropathology at Ulm University Hospital, also supports specialist medical training through neuropathology teaching sessions. The iPath Telemedicine Network facilitates international knowledge exchange and digital collaboration across national borders.
