New Publication: Felix Stern – A Pioneer of Neurology

Our guest scientist Prof. Dr. Jürgen Schlegel has published a new article as first author in the Journal of Neurology. Entitled “Felix Stern (1884–1942),” the article explores the life and scientific contributions of the German neurologist Felix Stern, who was one of the leading experts in the field of encephalitis lethargica (sleeping sickness).

In addition to Stern's significant contributions to the neuropathological classification of inflammatory diseases of the central nervous system, the publication addresses his persecution during the Nazi era and his tragic fate.

The publication was produced with the involvement of the Institute of Neuropathology at Ulm University and is freely accessible as an open-access article.
