MyTB Lab
Hello and welcome to the MyTB Lab website.
The successful defence against an infection with Mycobacterium tuberculosis requires the interaction of defence mechanisms of the innate and acquired immune response. Our infection immunology group conducts experiments with the aim of investigating known defence mechanisms in more detail and, above all, discovering new mechanisms. The overriding aim is to contribute to the further development of new strategies for the prophylaxis (vaccination) and treatment of tuberculosis. Therefore, all experiments are carried out with clinically relevant samples:
- Human cells from the blood and lungs
- Tissue samples from tuberculosis patients
- Infection with virulent tubercle bacilli
