The Department of Urology and Paediatric Urology at Ulm University Hospital was certified as a uro-oncology centre by the German Cancer Society (DKG) in November 2019.

The Uro-oncology Centre consists of the Department of Urology and Paediatric Urology as well as various other clinics, institutes and associated urological practices. Together, we work in close cooperation to provide patients with urological tumour diseases with the best possible, state-of-the-art medical care. The Department of Urology at Ulm University Hospital has been regularly recognised as a certified prostate cancer centre by the DKG experts since 2010. Since 2019, the panel of experts has also confirmed our high level of expertise in the treatment of patients with bladder and kidney cancer. The Uro-oncology Centre is closely integrated into the structure of the Comprehensive Cancer Center Ulm (CCCU), which is funded as a centre of excellence by German Cancer Aid. The Department of Urology is also a certified DKG second opinion centre.

The interdisciplinary and guideline-based treatment of patients with urological tumours is becoming increasingly complex and is subject to ever higher quality requirements. The best possible patient care at the highest clinical and scientific level is guaranteed by the recognised expertise of our doctors, the highly competent healthcare and nursing staff, our scientific staff and the highly networked infrastructure of the clinic. We offer the entire range of modern urological diagnostics as well as the complete spectrum of surgical and drug-based tumour therapies. Many techniques are established in tumour surgery: robot-assisted (DaVinci® system), laparoscopic, endoscopic or open surgery. The regular interdisciplinary tumour conferences and the availability of innovative new forms of therapy via our study centre expand the range of treatments available for advanced stages of the disease.
