Yes, for a planned inpatient admission you need a referral from your GP or specialist. A referral is usually sufficient for preliminary outpatient consultations or counselling.

You will get to know the medical team during a preliminary consultation. The operation will be performed by experienced specialists from our team.

You report to our admissions department at the agreed time. This is followed by medical consultations, information, examinations if necessary - and you move into your room. The operation will take place on the same day or the next day.

  • Health insurance card (if applicable)
  • Your current medication (preferably with packaging)
  • Patient decree
  • Bathrobe
  • Slippers, sturdy shoes (leisure or sports shoes, possibly with Velcro fastening)
  • Comfortable, casual clothing, underwear and nightwear
  • Wash bag: toothbrush (dentures and container), hairbrush, shaving set, soap, shampoo, deodorant, earplugs if necessary
  • Glasses, contact lenses with care products, hearing aid (and container)
  • Prostheses
  • ID cards for pacemakers or similar
  • Mobile phone, charger, headphones
  • All other personal items that you will need as well as utensils for your hobby, which you can easily do sitting at the table or on the edge of the bed (books, Sudoku, Theraband etc.)
  • Walking aids, if required

There are several ward rounds for our patients every day, so that further information can ideally be provided individually during or after the ward round. You are welcome to contact us by telephone via the ward secretariat of E6 on 0731 500-53420 (preferably between 12:00 - 15:00). For our patients in the monitoring ward or intensive care unit in particular, please contact our secretary Mrs Sauter (by phone or email) and we will be happy to take care of your request. In an emergency, you can contact our doctors on duty at any time via the surgical gate 0731 500-0.

Admission of inpatients

 

Inpatients of the Surgical Clinic register at the central patient admission desk in the foyer by the main entrance.

Opening hours: Monday to Friday from 6.30 am to 3.30 pm.

Documents for admission

Please bring the following documents with you on admission:

  • Referral/referral slip from your family doctor
  • Insurance card
  • CT images, findings etc. required for admission.

The wards are located on level 6 and you can use the lifts E and F to the wards, where you will arrive directly next to the nursing service point. Please report to the ward staff there.
