Background to the programme

The programme is based on an inclusive and scientifically sound approach. Studies show that similar programmes:

  • can improve quality of life
  • can reduce stress, anxiety and exhaustion
  • Can make it easier to cope with stressful situations

A key aim of the programme is to promote your self-efficacy – that is, your ability to take active steps to improve your health and wellbeing.

In this 10-week group programme (once a week, approx. 1.5 hours each session), you will learn ways to strengthen your own resources and promote your health holistically.

The programme focuses on mind-body medicine – a scientifically based approach that takes into account the interactions between the body, thoughts, emotions and behaviour.

The following topics are covered:

  • Behavioural change – establishing healthy routines in everyday life for the long term
  • Stress and tension management – strategies for better coping with stress
  • Wholefood nutrition – the basics and practical application of a balanced diet
  • Habits of judgement and perception – recognising and changing one’s own thought patterns
  • Communication (internal and external) – treating yourself and others with mindfulness
  • Mindfulness – conscious awareness of the present moment
  • Social network – strengthening resources through interaction and support

In addition, there is a short exercise programme to help you unwind, as well as guided mindfulness and relaxation exercises. Various exercises are used, such as breathing meditation, progressive muscle relaxation, diaphragmatic breathing and other stress-reduction techniques.

The programme is practice-oriented and varied in its design. At the same time, the course provides space for discussion and mutual support.
