Diagnostics, therapy and research in the field of cancer care are organised in the form of a three-stage model. The organ cancer centres are the centres of excellence for common tumour diseases such as bowel or breast cancer.
The oncology centre, on the other hand, comprises the rarer tumour entities such as head and neck tumours or leukaemia. In addition, the synergies of the individual care structures of the organ cancer centres are systematically bundled.
The Comprehensive Cancer Centre, which focuses on the development of new treatment strategies and is funded by German Cancer Aid, is the overarching umbrella organisation.
