Die Arbeitsgruppe Muskuloskelettale Bildgebung der Klinik für Diagnostische und Interventionelle Radiologie am Universitätsklinikum Ulm forscht an den Ursachen von Erkrankungen des menschlichen Bewegungsapparates und evaluiert neue Bildgebungs- und Therapieverfahren. Das Ziel unserer Forschungsarbeit ist es, die Ursachen von muskuloskelettalen Beschwerden besser zu verstehen, die Detektion von Erkrankungen auch mit Hilfe künstlicher Intelligenz zu verbessern und damit auch die Therapie zu optimieren. 

Kooperationen bestehen zum Institut für Unfallchirurgische Forschung und Biomechanik, zum Team „Unfallchirurgische Translationale und Experimentelle Forschung“ sowie den Kliniken für Innere Medizin I und III.
Der wissenschaftliche Schwerpunkt der Arbeitsgruppe Muskuloskelettale Bildgebung ist die Etablierung und Evaluation innovativer Bildgebungs- und Analysemethoden des menschlichen Bewegungsapparates.

Projekte

1. Körperzusammensetzungsanalyse (body composition analysis), insbesondere Sarkopeniediagnostik mit Hilfe künstlicher Intelligenz.
2. Morphologische Analysen anhand von CT- und NMR-Daten für die Erstellung von Computermodellen für muskuloskelettale Untersuchen an der Wirbelsäule mit Thorax.
3. Knochendichteanalysen in der Wirbelsäule, Becken und Hüfte zur Vorhersage von Frakturen und Beurteilung verschiedener Therapiekonzepte.
4. Entwicklung und Evaluierung von Algorithmen zur automatisierten Frakturerkennung.
5. Moderne Bildgebungstechniken zur Knochenalterbestimmung.
