AG Bülow – Organ-Crosstalk after alcohol intoxication
Jasmin obtained her M.Sc. in Pharmaceutical Biotechnology at the University of Ulm and University of Applied Sciences Biberach in 2019. Her interest in the field of immunology and trauma research motivated her to graduate at the Institute of Orthopedic Research and Biomechanics, where she investigated in her PhD the role of the complement system in bone diseases such as osteoporosis and bone fracture. In Mai 2023, she joined our lab to reveal the function of alcohol on the immune response after polytrauma.
In her research she focuses on alcohol-dependent regulation of the NF-kB signaling after polytrauma in both in vitro and in vivo settings. Furthermore, she concentrates on the modulation and changing of the energy metabolism in this context. Her aim is to better understand the mechanistical route of alcohol mediated regulation of the posttraumatic immune response and regeneration, seeking new therapies for alcohol intoxicated polytrauma patients.
